Description: Meet Lyla, She's been in rescue for awhile at no fault of her own. She was a emergency owner surrender and on that level we request all medical records and as much background information on who she is to find appropriate foster home for her needs. Upon intake we found a lot of the facts were contradicting to the information received. She has been moved around a few times but it's our little village that came together for Lyla and everyone she's encountered has always been positive. Today she's in a structured based foster home getting socialized, confidence building and coping skills needed with the guidance of Hope Lives Here Behaviorist and Trainer Nina. Lyla is a gem with a few sharp edges. Spunky character with lots of love. Her socially awkwardness in different scenario's is comical, rough, reactive. She's super intelligent on what ever task is placed on her with puzzles, agility, toys. Discovering different toys has been a blast. Still a little shy of the squeaker but she realized "I can kill the stuffy working around it". She's enjoying her journey of learning how to be a in house dog from watching TV to trying to master counter surfing. Intrigued by all the new noises and not fearful. Lyla has been going to ON leash parks only. Training on leash has been going very well. She loves meeting people and we've been working on proper introductions not to jump all over humans. She's extremely mouthy so we've been hand feeding some of her meals to develop a new habit of using her lips and tongue. Today most of the time she'll lick my hand for pets and also on a occasion use her nose to communicate I want love. She loves water, specially puddles are her favorite because she likes the splashing. I prefer her not to be placed in a home with other dogs at this time as she's reactive towards anxious dogs, dogs playing with one another, sharing the same space, she will not stand down for no dog. etc. she doesn't understand and it makes her nervous. We're working on leave it and let's go. She can now be redirected from focusing on cats but she'll never like cats as for housemates. Anyone interested in adopting Lyla must be dog savvy and attend a training coarse to continue her progress forward and positive journey. If you want to know more about Lyla the foster is happy to answer all your questions.

Callie is a busy, active, and smart girl. She is happy, comfortable and feels secure in her kennel, where she sleeps at night, and stays when we go out. She is completely house-trained. She likes to be near you at all times and loves getting her ears and belly rubbed. Callie enjoys running and playing at the off leash park and is a very social dog – she loves people and other dogs. However, when playing with another active dog, on occasion she does accelerate rapidly in her play; that acceleration must be monitored, but it rarely develops into a problem. Callie has little experience with cats, but when encountered, she is good with them, and tends to shy away from them. Callie tends to want to be a dominant dog, so care must be taken to ensure she will be compatible with any other dogs in the household.. She must also be given strong direction by her human or she will try to exert control. She is a very strong dog and while she is a very good walker on a slip lead leash, she does have a strong prey instinct and reacts to skateboards and occasionally to bicycles. Callie passed the first level of puppy training at Waggles. Callie loves to cuddle, and she is a very warm affectionate dog. Initially, she had a lot of anxiety; however this has reduced over time. She loves her toys and will often be found chewing toys or bones. She is very intelligent and learns things quickly. She is very food motivated and loves her treats so this facilitates training. Callie is a spunky, fun and lovable girl.

Indie came to us as a very thin stray who had been clearly living a survival lifestyle among other dogs. She loves her people, once she gains your trust. She will be the biggest cuddle buddy once she knows you are safe. Indie has been staying at 780 kennels in Leduc, and it would be best that potential adopters meet her there a couple times to build that initial bond and trust. With the right introductions and the right match she may do well with a dog who likes to play. No cats in her environment. Indie is crate and house trained. She walks well on leash and knows basic commands. She will need a home that likes to be active and cuddle, with someone who will be consistent and confident.

Siggy came into care in September of last year. Unfortunately due to severe allergies in her home, she is now in a foster home & looking for her furever place! She is almost 10 years old and very hard of hearing. Siggy has been around kids her whole life and is great with them! She loves to play with her special pig toy and is a giant cuddle bug. She isn’t super active but has bursts of energy that almost trick you into believing she’s a puppy again! Siggy came into care in quite poor health. She is prone to UTIs and her new home should be aware that she also has old bones. She takes a supplement regularly and will have geriatric needs. Siggy requires a high quality food to ensure urinary health. Siggy is an extremely loving dog, and loves to be by her people, loudly and happily snoring away. . Siggy is not only big , but has a huge heart . She loves cuddles and kisses and always right by your side.

Clover is a smart, willing to please girl! She has potential to become an amazing family dog. She LOVES kids and loves the kitten in her foster home. She is a big dog so needs supervised play with smaller animals (cats and small dogs). She is very obedient, knows to sit, lay down, heal and shake a paw. Walks nicely on a slip lead, no pulling (unless she sees another dog, in which case we have been practicing sit and wait) and settles in to a nice walk at your side. Great walking beside a stroller. She is a tall dog, so a tall fence would be necessary as she would be able to clear a short fence if she wanted to. Alerts when someone is walking by or comes to the door, but easily corrected to stop barking. Loves her people once she gets to know you. Very loyal and will follow you around to see what you’re up to. A little leery of strangers and may growl, but continues to make great progress with this everyday. Once she trusts her new human, she will blossom into the beautiful girl she has been for her foster home. Does enjoy to pick up the cat toys and run off with them, so will need to be careful that she doesn’t eat a small toy due to her puppy like behaviour. Loves going for car rides, will sit in the back quietly. No whining or panting. Needs some work on large flights of stairs as she isn’t sure about going down to the basement. Clover is an amazing dog and has come a long way in a short amount of time. She will make someone extremely happy!
