Description: Meet Lyla, She's been in rescue for awhile at no fault of her own. She was a emergency owner surrender and on that level we request all medical records and as much background information on who she is to find appropriate foster home for her needs. Upon intake we found a lot of the facts were contradicting to the information received. She has been moved around a few times but it's our little village that came together for Lyla and everyone she's encountered has always been positive. Today she's in a structured based foster home getting socialized, confidence building and coping skills needed with the guidance of Hope Lives Here Behaviorist and Trainer Nina. Lyla is a gem with a few sharp edges. Spunky character with lots of love. Her socially awkwardness in different scenario's is comical, rough, reactive. She's super intelligent on what ever task is placed on her with puzzles, agility, toys. Discovering different toys has been a blast. Still a little shy of the squeaker but she realized "I can kill the stuffy working around it". She's enjoying her journey of learning how to be a in house dog from watching TV to trying to master counter surfing. Intrigued by all the new noises and not fearful. Lyla has been going to ON leash parks only. Training on leash has been going very well. She loves meeting people and we've been working on proper introductions not to jump all over humans. She's extremely mouthy so we've been hand feeding some of her meals to develop a new habit of using her lips and tongue. Today most of the time she'll lick my hand for pets and also on a occasion use her nose to communicate I want love. She loves water, specially puddles are her favorite because she likes the splashing. I prefer her not to be placed in a home with other dogs at this time as she's reactive towards anxious dogs, dogs playing with one another, sharing the same space, she will not stand down for no dog. etc. she doesn't understand and it makes her nervous. We're working on leave it and let's go. She can now be redirected from focusing on cats but she'll never like cats as for housemates. Anyone interested in adopting Lyla must be dog savvy and attend a training coarse to continue her progress forward and positive journey. If you want to know more about Lyla the foster is happy to answer all your questions.

Callie is a busy, active, and smart girl. She is happy, comfortable and feels secure in her kennel, where she sleeps at night, and stays when we go out. She is completely house-trained. She likes to be near you at all times and loves getting her ears and belly rubbed. Callie enjoys running and playing at the off leash park and is a very social dog – she loves people and other dogs. However, when playing with another active dog, on occasion she does accelerate rapidly in her play; that acceleration must be monitored, but it rarely develops into a problem. Callie has little experience with cats, but when encountered, she is good with them, and tends to shy away from them. Callie tends to want to be a dominant dog, so care must be taken to ensure she will be compatible with any other dogs in the household.. She must also be given strong direction by her human or she will try to exert control. She is a very strong dog and while she is a very good walker on a slip lead leash, she does have a strong prey instinct and reacts to skateboards and occasionally to bicycles. Callie passed the first level of puppy training at Waggles. Callie loves to cuddle, and she is a very warm affectionate dog. Initially, she had a lot of anxiety; however this has reduced over time. She loves her toys and will often be found chewing toys or bones. She is very intelligent and learns things quickly. She is very food motivated and loves her treats so this facilitates training. Callie is a spunky, fun and lovable girl.

Ginny is the mom of our Soprano's litter This sweet girl is a total love bug. She loves her humans and can’t get enough snuggles with them. Ginny is still a bit timid and isn’t always sure that it’s love she will receive when human hands get close but she’s definitely starting to trust more often than not. Walking isn’t Ginnys favourite activity although she is starting to enjoy them more. A couple short walks a day work well for her. Ginny would do wonderfully well in a family with older children. She’s not a fan of sudden, quick movements. If you work from home or you’re home for long periods of time during the day than you’re the perfect fit for Ginny. She is crate trained but it’s not her favourite spot. That’s the couch or our 13 year olds bed!! Ginny does well with other dogs. We have a boxer and they are great friends. We’ve also introduced her to a past foster dog and they got on great. We have not had her around cats so that would need to be explored. Ginny is one of the sweetest dogs we’ve had in our home. She loves to cuddle and she will follow us around the house just to make sure she knows where we are at all times. She’s started learning basic commands and with patience and time she will definitely pick others up.
